The Trusted Hometown Hearing Care Choice Near Dundas, ON
Nicknamed the Valley Town because of its topographical location at the bottom of the Niagara Escarpment on the western edge of Lake Ontario, Dundas, ON was a hunter’s paradise for waterfowl named after Scottish politician Henry Dundas in 1814. By the mid-1800s, Dundas became a significant manufacturing community with two grist mills, a furniture factory, a cloth factory and two foundries (for making steam engines).
After the establishment of McMaster University in west Hamilton in 1930, Dundas grew to become a bedroom community for university faculty and students and continues to support a thriving arts community with a large community of potters and several studio shows. Dundas is also near commonly visited Webster’s Falls (named after Joseph Webster) and Tews Falls, which are accessible by the Bruce Trail leading to the Dundas Peninsula, with Dundas Peak as a popular overlook of West Hamilton.
