Although now referred to as the Heart of Tobacco Country, Delhi, ON was first known for its lumber industry until the 1880s, though the first tobacco plots were not planted until the 1920s. As part of the Ontario Tobacco Belt, Delhi saw its heyday in the 1950s and 1960s but took a major hit in the early 2000s as the industry began to decline.
Tobacco and ginseng are the main cash crops in the modern agricultural economy of Delhi while Lake Erie Warehousing provides industrial customers in Southern Ontario with logistics, trucking and storage services. Since our inception in 2015, Hometown Hearing Centre has been devoted to helping individuals with hearing challenges reconnect and communicate with loved ones and the community in Delhi. With data suggesting that hearing loss impacts 1 in 8 people, it often goes undiagnosed for far too long as age related hearing loss happen slowly and gradually. Our team at Hometown Hearing are incredibly passionate about raising awareness for the importance of regular hearing testing, starting at the age of 55+ and recommended annually for all people across Ontario.
One of the ways that we do this by proudly offering free hearing testing to make regular hearing assessments as simple and convenient as possible.
