Cambridge, ON was formed in 1973 by combining the townships of Galt, Preston and Hespeler along with the Blair Settlement and a small portion of surrounding townships. The Hespeler portion was primarily engaged in operating woollen and textile mills but also included a grist and a sawmill, a tannery, a tavern, one store, one pail factory, two blacksmiths, two tailors and two shoemakers.
Modern industrial activities in and around Cambridge include auto manufacturing at Toyota’s Cambridge plant as well as operations by companies like Rimowa, Gerdau, ATS Automation Tooling Systems, Loblaw Companies Limited, Dare Foods, Frito-Lay Canada (formerly Hostess), Babcock & Wilcox, Rockwell Automation and COM DEV International, and Coronation Dental Specialty Group. One standout feature of the community is the Hespeler Library, which was created by building a glass cube around the historic Carnegie Library.
Since our establishment in 2015, Hometown Hearing Centre has been committed to assisting those with hearing challenges in reconnecting and communicating with loved ones and their community. Our state-of-the-art hearing centre in Cambridge Hespeler focuses on delivering compassionate hearing healthcare, exceptional service, and advanced hearing aid technology.
At our Hespeler location, as well as our 18 hearing centres across Southern Ontario, we are devoted to the community we serve. Our team at Hometown Hearing are incredibly passionate about raising awareness for the importance of regular hearing testing, starting at the age of 55+ and recommended annually for all people across Ontario.
